Sonya Kovtun
Director of Communications
Sofiia (Sonya) Kovtun is a junior at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate, pursuing a B.S. in Real Estate with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Architecture.
Originally from Ukraine, Sonya began her real estate career in residential brokerage, contributing to six sales and leasing transactions totaling $420,000 over four months. She later supported the development of a 55-key boutique hotel, gaining experience in feasibility analysis, zoning, underwriting, and investor materials. Most recently, Sonya interned at a leading insurance brokerage in New York, where she contributed to property risk advisory work by evaluating exposures, analyzing coverage structures, and supporting risk-management strategies for clients.
Outside the classroom, Sonya has a deep love for fashion and a strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation. She also leads a nonprofit supporting children affected by the war in Ukraine.
